What this publication is
I write Project Controls Intelligence to examine how project information becomes a decision. My starting point is contractor-side construction: the hours that have been spent, the work that remains, and the assumptions connecting the two.
PC-I is a body of work under my personal professional identity. Notes develop a focused question; frameworks make a method usable; research articles examine evidence and its limits. I intend to publish approximately 12–18 pieces a year, with depth determined by the question.
How I work
- Start with a specific project decision.
- Examine evidence and contradictions.
- Separate what is known from what is inferred.
- State the assumptions, confidence and open questions.
- Fact
- A statement supported by identified evidence.
- Inference
- An interpretation drawn from that evidence.
- Hypothesis
- A proposition that needs testing.
- Recommendation
- A proposed action with stated conditions and limits.
Independence and boundaries
I write on personal time; no employer or client schedules, data, screenshots or situations are used. Examples are synthetic or public, and the views are my own.
Background
My background spans project controls and PMO leadership across construction environments. My work includes planning, labour forecasting, earned value and data systems, using tools such as Primavera P6, Power BI and Procore.
